Jane Vaidya - Seal Life 6    Jane Vaidya - Stripy Fish and Rocks
Rocks interest me - their age, appearance and colours. I like the way the colour intensifies when they are wet. A rock pool to me represents a unique self-contained world. There is a sensation of gazing into space, deep crevasses, splashes of colour from fish and the whirl of shells like spinning planets.
Jane Vaidya
My work is about the sea and the shore, rock pools and freshwater ponds; that is life that thrives in and around the water. I try to capture the sinuous movement and patterns that fish make - the sudden splash of vivid colours or the subtle blending with their surroundings.
