Boeing-Boeing

by Marc Camoletti

7:30pm

A frantically funny and fast-paced farce, Boeing-Boeing was last performed by New Era way back in 1969. The action is set in the late 1950s and follows the exploits of American lothario Bernard, who has three fiancées, all stewardesses with different airlines. He likes to think he has 'one on the ground, one about to take off and one in the air', but his bachelor bliss is about to come crashing down as faster jets bring changes to the schedules, upsetting his carefully managed love life. This is a play that manages to take off from its 50s time zone and entertain you with timeless comedy.

This amateur production of Boeing-Boeing is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals Ltd. on behalf of Samuel French Ltd. www.concordtheatricals.co.uk

The New Era Players present Boeing-Boeing on 28th- 30th November and 4th-7th December 2024 at the New Era Theatre, Andover Road, Wash Common, Newbury RG14 6NU. The Bach Dynasty

7:30pm

A concert of choral music with orchestral accompaniment.

Johann Sebastian Bach is now generally regarded as one of the greatest composers of all time.

Many of his family were talented musicians and composers as well, and most were also called Johann!

Johann Christoph (1642-1703) and Johann Michael (1648-1694) were brothers, and cousins of J.S.Bach's father, Johann Ambrosius Bach.

Johann Christian (1735-1782) was the youngest son of J.S. Bach. In 1762 he became composer to the King's Theatre, London, therefore becoming known as "The English Bach".

Box_office: Tickets £15, Under 18's free, online at www.newburychamberchoir.org or on the door.
